The weather in San Francisco has been simply glorious the last week. It's what summers should be like if only the fog would ease up for once. Like any good San Franciscan we had to soak up the sunny skies and warm weather before it gets blanketed back into the fog. Matt thought we should do a dry run with our backpacks and hike up to Erin's in the Presidio. Although the idea seemed alittle silly the practicality of it made sense so we stuffed our packs and embarked to Erin's. Tim served as our not-so-foreign guide. It was the maiden voyage for my pack and day pack. To simulate typical treks we will be making abroad we thought it only fitting that we stop for a pint on our walk. Abby Tavern is as foreign as it comes in San Francisco and the perfect place for a mid-day libation (not to mention the only place that was open at noon). Their bloody mary's pack a spicy punch so much so that I knocked my half full drink all over the floor. At least my day pack got christened much like a ship before setting sail. We finally made it to Erin's or as she dubbed it Beeber's Beer Garden about an hour an a half after we started. She created nice ambiance complete with chairs, tables, jugs of wine and scenic views. We even snacked on salad. It was the perfect practice run with our packs. To geek out even further we even pulled out our Ipod and stereo for full effect. If the dry run is any indication of what lies ahead for us then we are in splendid shape.
